Meet Mélanie Jarnson: Bangkok-based actor with a flair for the cinematic and a soft spot for whimsy. From the early-morning scent of Bangkok street food to film score deep dives, Mel moves through creativity with instinct and a good dose of humour. Catch her on set for a new horror-comedy, LENNY in the air, chasing stories that feel as good as they sound.

For those who don’t know you, who are you and what do you do?

My name’s Mel Jarnson, and I’m an actor. From the moment I figured out movies weren't documentaries at the age of 4, I knew I wanted to get into acting. I got scouted when I was 14 and I had no idea how hard it was going to be to get into. I ended up getting sooo so lucky.

What’s your favourite ORB scent and why? 

LENNY, it’s a warm, sensual and cuddly. Fragrance plays an important role in my life. It's very emotional. I am a very emotional person. It helps me get into character.

What is your creative outlet?

My job is usually my creative outlet, or procrastiwalking is another. 

First fragrance memory?

The smell of Adelaide – because that is where we would visit for Christmas from Thailand. It smells like Cedar, it smells like wood. I also think it’s gotta be Thai street food in the mornings in Bangkok. Khanom Krok and Pa Thongko cooking in the kiosks at dawn are core.

Do you have anything exciting in the works?

I’m currently shooting a little horror comedy feature which should be lots of fun. It is also my first lead so I am like excited dance

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would you pick, and why?

The film score essentials album…look - I’m a whimsy gal at heart - plus there’s a variety of genres and core memories for me not to get bored and it’s over 9 hours long. AND it’s good for both work and leisure. Win win!
